Mrs. Marie Raynor
Personal Profile:
A professional speaker and trainer whose varied experience includes
28 years membership of the speaker panel for The Guide Dogs for
the Blind Association and delivery of ‘Visual Impairment Awareness
Training’ at the former Manchester and Trafford Schools of
Nursing. Also, working in conjunction with an international company,
delivering awareness training sessions to Local authority staff.
First hand experience of the many issues and problems faced by people
with little or no sight. An excellent advocate for positive thinking
with the firm belief that this, coupled with enthusiasm and determination,
provide ideal qualities of a ‘Specialist’ trainer and
lecturer.
Experienced broadcaster on disability issues, on national and local
radio.
A member of the panel of visual impairment awareness trainers, approved
by the RNIB
Also approved by Action for Blind People.

1977 to present day
Appointed to the volunteer speaker’s panel for GDBA with
continuing work which involves speaking to a wide variety of groups,
mainly educating them and giving them a clear understanding of
how guide dog owners work their dogs and cope with daily living.
Considered an excellent speaker, providing “trainee focused”
learning and raising awareness of the needs of people with sight
problems, through presentations and lectures.

A rigidly structured lecturing role at the Greater Manchester
Police HQ. in Stretford, and at Sedgeley Park. Tasks involved
delivery of visual impairment awareness training to Divisional
Training Sergeants and newly qualified constables. A challenging
but fulfilling role that gained an excellent response from trainees.
